Serving is a great way to grow in your relationship with Christ.
How? When we serve, we’re laying down our time and our talent to serve others and build up the body of Christ. It’s also a great way to meet more people and get stuck in to life as a church.
Let's take a walk through a Sunday to help you figure out where you might first serve.
First up, is the Parking Team.
Being so central is so handy but it does make it a bit tricky for those who need to drive in, especially when they might have children or need a wheelchair to get around. Our parking team helps make sure those who need it get their parking validated in the nearby car park. If you’re short on time, but would still like to serve, this might be the team for you!
Next, the Welcome Team greets you.
If you've walked in to Central Hall, you were probably first welcomed by this team. We hope we helped make those first few steps into a new church easier for you! As first point of contact for many of our guests, this team sets up tables with welcome packs and relevant info, greets people as they arrive, and helps usher them to their seats. If you have a friendly and outgoing personality and enjoy making people feel welcome, this might be the right fit for you!
Then, you meet the Hospitality Team.
Who doesn't love a good snack? This team might have given you your first coffee or cookie, working to create a welcoming and hospitable environment for all who come to worship at City Church. Catering for most tastes, we prepare and serve tea, coffee, cold drinks and snacks, laid out in an inviting way. We also greet and chat to guests, helping to make them feel even more welcome. If you have a heart for hospitality and enjoy serving others, this could be a great team to join.
As you enter the auditorium, the Tech Team will be ready for you...
Our job is to ensure everyone can see, hear and engage in worship with as little distractions as possible – whether they're here in person or watching online. This means running the audio and visual gear, the livestream and cameras, and troubleshooting any issues. If you have a passion for technology and enjoy working behind the scenes, why not give this team a go?
We believe that serving is an important part of our walk with Christ. So if you want to grow in Christ and in relationships with others, why not join a serving team?
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. - 1 Peter 4:10
We look forward to serving alongside you!
